New Delhi – The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI), under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), announces the appointment of Shri Akash Tripathi, IAS (MP:1998), as Managing Director. His appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.

SECI’s leadership structure is now formalised with Shri Santosh Sarangi, IAS, Secretary, MNRE, continuing as Chairman. This governance framework provides for institutional oversight and dedicated executive direction across SECI’s expanding portfolio.

Shri Santosh Sarangi, IAS, Chairman, SECI, and Secretary, MNRE, stated, “SECI operates at the core of India’s renewable energy implementation. Shri Tripathi’s appointment brings dedicated leadership for execution at scale, tighter institutional coordination, and delivery across emerging priorities like green hydrogen, energy storage, and green energy projects. This dual structure reflects the Ministry’s approach to enablement and accountability.”

SECI, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under MNRE is the designated agency for implementing India’s national renewable energy initiatives, including competitive bidding for solar, wind, hybrid, energy storage, offshore wind, and green hydrogen projects etc.

With the partnership taking shape, Hero Electric will deliver more electric bikes to the company in future, Hero Electric said

Mumbai: EV maker Hero Electric on Wednesday said it has delivered the first 12 e-bikes to Sivakasi-based Pioneer Asia Group for employees’ commute in the first phase of the deal and is in discussion with the group for further orders. Pioneer Asia Group is the largest match producer in the country with more than 400 workforce, including factory workers.

“We are happy to partner with Pioneer Asia Group and be a part of their initiative to provide green vehicles to its employees for the work commute. Hero Electric Optima-HX will offer a great experience of a smooth, efficient ride to the company’s employees,” said Sohinder Gill, Chief Executive Officer, Hero Electric.

“We are looking forward to providing more Hero bikes to the company for the rest of its employees under this initiative,” he added.

Ather Energy, the electric two-wheeler maker, at present has two scooter models — Ather 450 and Ather 450X– in its product portfolio

Mumbai: Hero MotoCorp-backed Ather Energy has partnered with dockless mobility solution provider Bounce for a scooter sharing initiative ‘Peer to Peer’ (P2P) with the pilot programme taking off from Bengaluru on Monday, a release said on Tuesday. Under the partnership, the Ather 450 e-scoote purchased via Bounce’s website can be booked for Rs 499 and will be delivered on priority basis post the lockdown once deliveries resume, the release said.

Bengaluru-based start up Bounce already has ‘ScooterHero’ a P2P initiative, under which individuals can rent out their vehicles directly during the lockdown and the partnership with Ather enables new Ather 450 owners to monetise the idle time of the vehicle by listing their vehicle on the Bounce App, it said.

Consumers opting for this P2P models need to book the Ather 450 through the Bounce platform and on delivery the commercially registered vehicle will be listed on the Bounce app, the release said adding Bounce customers will now be able to rent the vehicle for hours or days, as listed by the owner while the consumers will be remunerated when their scooter is rented.

Ather said it has introduced new post-purchase plans (Ather One), customised for the sharing model, including new service and maintenance plan which will address the wear and tear of multi-rider usage.
