In Short : Reliance Industries Limited has commissioned over 1 GW of solar panels at its Jamnagar facility, all certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). This milestone marks a major step in RIL’s renewable energy expansion, supporting India’s solar manufacturing capabilities and clean energy goals, while ensuring high-quality, domestically produced photovoltaic modules for the market.

In Detail : Reliance Industries Limited has announced the commissioning of more than 1 gigawatt of solar panels at its Jamnagar manufacturing facility.

All the newly produced panels have received Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification, ensuring they meet stringent quality and performance benchmarks set by the Indian government.

The development marks a significant step in RIL’s strategic push into renewable energy and domestic solar manufacturing.

Located in Gujarat, the Jamnagar facility is designed to produce high-efficiency photovoltaic modules to cater to India’s rapidly expanding solar market.

By achieving over 1 GW in capacity, the plant strengthens India’s self-reliance in solar technology and reduces dependence on imported equipment.

The BIS certification ensures that the panels adhere to rigorous safety, reliability, and performance standards, boosting consumer and industry confidence.

RIL aims to expand the facility’s capacity in the coming years to meet the growing demand for clean energy solutions across the country.

This milestone aligns with India’s broader goal of increasing renewable energy capacity to meet its net-zero commitments by 2070.

With this achievement, Reliance has positioned itself as a key player in the country’s solar manufacturing ecosystem, driving both innovation and sustainability.
