### **Objective**
The Government of Maharashtra has decided to **exempt solar and wind power generation projects** from:
* Obtaining **Non-Agricultural (NA) Use Permission/Certificate** for converting land use.
* Paying **Non-Agricultural (NA) Tax** on such converted land.
This decision applies until amendments to the **Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966** are completed to permanently remove these requirements.

### **Background**
The decision is in alignment with:
1. **Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana**
2. **Renewable Energy Policy 2020**
3. **Maharashtra Green Hydrogen Policy 2023**
These policies already provide relaxations for NA use permissions for renewable energy projects.

### **Scope of Exemption**
* Applicable to **solar and wind power projects** set up under the three policies above.
* No NA permission required to start non-agricultural use for project land.
* Full NA tax exemption for such project land.

### **Implementation Process**
1. **Development Permission** must be obtained from the competent planning authority or after building plan sanction.
2. A copy of the permission must be submitted to the **Taluka Revenue Officer** for updating land records.
3. District Collectors to instruct subordinate offices to promptly update records.

### **Validity**
* Exemption is **temporary**, valid until the proposed amendment to the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966 is enacted.
